"Foray" at The National Arts Club

  • The National Arts Club 15 Gramercy Park South New York, NY 10003 (map)

Exhibit: Outside The Lines: Modernist Drawings
Featured art: "Foray"

Gregg & Marquis Galleries
All four galleries of The National Arts Club are open to the public and can be visited Monday to Friday between 10 AM and 5 PM (hours are subject to change). There is no admission fee.

Drawings have, for centuries, offered viewers an immediate and intimate glimpse of the artist’s imagination. Since the late 19th century, artists have made the argument that drawings can posses intrinsic qualities that make them a major art form in its own right. By the 1920s, artists were challenging the concept of drawing by redefining ideas about line and space. Today, through the use of nontraditional media, many have energized its force and visual impact.

On view will be works by Nancy Grossman, Will Barnet, Jack Pierson, Albert Oehlen and others who employ drawing as an independent and powerful expression.
